Selling in Turbulent Economic Times
Last night I attended the Sales Performance Meetup in Vancouver. Shane Gibson, Author, Sales Trainer & meetup organizer spoke at the event last night. The first time I heard Shane present was at the Real Estate Tech Meetup probablly a year ago. I've been to that meetup a lot and Shane still stands out as one of the best presenters.
2 Things I like about Shane's presentations
1. They are engaging. He's a great speaker and quite comfortable in his own skin. He is easy to listen to and keeps you engaged.
2. He always delivers a powerful bit of advice that you can use and implement.
I'm sure you've been to presentations where the speaker is engaging and entertaining, but at the end of the night you are left thinking..."what am I suppose to do with all that?" This does not happen with Shane. He never fails to deliver.
Last night was no different -- Here are the Five tips he delivered for Succeeding in Turbulent Economic Times
- You Empower what you focus on
(Focus on the good and you empower the good) - Know the 4th way to increase revenue
- Have a process for follow through
- Have a local network building plan
- Leverage yourself and your budget with web 2.0
I was obviously interested in the last point about web 2.0 since this is what we teach about and preach weekly! Shane told story after story of how using Web 2.0 had lead to real deals for both him and for others. One stat he shared was that now 60% of his business comes from the web.
Shane recoreded the session last night, so check out his blog as the video will likely be going up soon.
How are you using Web 2.0 in your business? Have you seen any results yet?
