Increasing Your Adwords Conversions

Okay so we know what CTR (click-through-rate) is number of clicks divided by the number of impressions X 100

And we know what conversion rate is - the number of conversions divided by the number of clicks X 100

Now the million dollar question is how can we increase conversions?

Here are a few things that your landing page should have to ensure that you get your visitors to do what you want them to do.

  1. A Strong Call to Action, which Should appear above the fold. This is critical. The visitor to your page should know exactly what you want them to do and should not have to search for the next step in the process
  2. Include a headline at the top of the Page which will draw the visitor to take the next step with you.
  3. Include some sort of action mechanism for visitors to interact with. A form to fill out, Live Chat, or a Survey
  4. Keep your graphics to a minimum. People's eyes will be drawn to graphics. If you've got too many graphics, your visitors eyes will be bouncing all over the place. Use the graphics to draw visitors to the important elements on the page. The important elements are the Call to Action and Action Mechanism.

Once you've built a great page to send you visitors to, create a quick variation of that page and run a test. That is another topic it in and off it self. Next article, let's talk about the A/B testing and Google Website Optimizer.
