Find Content Ideas for Your Niche

Okay, in case you missed it...the search engines love content. If you want to get found for a certain topic or theme then you need to have some content about that topic or theme. Here are the two excuses that I often hear when it comes to writing good content

1. I don't have time.
2. I don't know what to write about.

Unfortunately I can't do anything about the first problem. Until time travel exisits we will just have to live within the constraints that we have. However you can get someone to help you write. We'll talk more about that in a later blog post, for now let's solve the second problem...

I don't know what to write about. Here is the solution. Write about the things that people want to hear about online. How do you do that?

I live in Vancouver in a Neighbourhood called false creek. Let's say I was a realtor here and wanted to be known as the "False Creek Expert" That means that I'm going to have to be writing about false creek on my website.

Here is what I would do....

1. Go to this page. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and type in the words "False Creek" in the text box

2. Click on the button generate keyword ideas

4. Take the list of search items and begin building pages or articles or blog posts on my site that talk about the searched terms.

For false creek I see a term, "False Creek Community Centre" I would a page on my site that talks about the community center in false creek. By doing this, I'm communicating to the search engines that I have a lot to say about "false creek" and when visitors come to my site they will also see that I am the "false creek expert."

5. The next thing I would do is go to http://www.google.com and search for the term "False Creek Community Centre" to see what others are saying about the community center. This will give me some information about the services provided and will give me specific ideas for my content.

Sorry i can't create more time, but hopefully this little short cut will help eliminate the guess work when you are trying to sort out what content you should add to your site.
