ReachdTV: Interview with iJustine
After the Keynote address at Webmaster World we ran into iJustine (Justine Ezarik). She is a video blogger and life blogger. Currently she has about 15 properties on the web and her videos get a huge number of views.
iJustine told us how easy it is to get started posting video and other content on the web. She mentioned using a still camera to shoot video and then just post it on the web. Her advice for someone who is new to recording and posting video, "Just get started" She encouraged small business owners to not worry about what to do, her thought was -- "Do something!" and then work on perfecting it from there.

Rodney: Hi, I am Rodney from Reachd and we are at Pubcorn in Vegas 2007, and I was just talking with iJustine, probably seen here on YouTube or one of the other 15 or 20 other places, she might exist on the web, so we are just want to chat with her little bit today. She creates a lot of content and we focus with like small businesses, real estate and may be they used to have small marketing dollars. Can you tell them how they can use user generated content or video to drive traffic to their site?
iJustine: You definitely can. Even if you are talking about travel and real estate, you can use live video, take some one through it core of the house that they might want to buy and that the states away and thy can’t make it. So I mean as far as that goes, that is perfect and also creating user generated content it is inexpensive, if you tag it correctly people are going to find it and what ever you want them to know you can tell them.
Rodney: So I guess give us an idea you said inexpensive like what is inexpensive mean the camera or laptop and?
iJustine: It really depends what you already have, most people have a computer, buy yourself a $300 small little digital camera, you can create video with that and as you may be making money with that and you can upgrade your equipment and it should be good to go.
Rodney: So, I have seen a few of your videos. I would like to hear from you what is the craziest one that you have ever put together?
iJustine: Craziest one, I almost got rested in an airport accidentally for live casting, so that was kind of little uncomfortable situation, they have thought I was a terrorist, but I am not, I am not. I am just a video blogger, ok.
Rodney: So home and security it’s ok. You don’t need to worry about it, she is all right. Any other just small piece of advice that you could give to may be small business owners or people of there trying to just get going?
iJustine: People say what is the first thing that I should do, just do it, just create something and it might not be the best but as you continue doing it, it will get better.
Rodney: So, there you go. Some advice from iJustine, just don’t worry about what to do just get started with something and go from there. Thanks a lot.
iJustine: Thank you.
Rodney: I appreciate it.
