April 28th, 2008
At our adwords training in Seattle someone asked, "What is the industry standard for the number of keywords I should use in an Adwords ad?"

This question is difficult to answer, there is no standard but what we did discuss was the importance of a "Conversation"

Here is the conversation that happens when someone types a keyword phrase into Google.

Visitor: "Good Morning, Google, do you know where I can find, a 'wedding photographer in Portland' ?"

Google: "Sure, here are ten websites that I think are relevant to your search and 10 ads that you might aslo be interested

You can read more about the attendees on the Past SEO Training page of our website.

Choosing Your Adwords Keywords

April 24th, 2008
Search engine marketing starts with choosing the right keywords. If you get your keyword set wrong, you are spending your time barking up the wrong tree. We I say keywords, it is important to note that we are talking about the word or phrase that someone searches for on Google or Yahoo. We are not talking about your meta keywords or something on your website.

How should you try and discover what sort of Keywords are working the best?

Step 1. Go to this website and enter your root phrase https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Why don't we try "wedding photograpy" as our root keyword... Here are some

Adwords Training at Zillow a Success

April 21st, 2008
It's official ... Reachd has gone international!

We've had a few clients from the states visit our training but last week was the first time that we had a chance to travel to the States and teach a course down there.

Zillow was gracious enough to host us in their beautiful Downtown office. The boardroom was full of realtors an agents anxious to hear more about how they could take full advantage of Google's powerful advertising tool, Google Adwords. David G from Zillow also popped in to share with us about Zillow's new mortgage marketplace and to give a presentation on Zillow's EZ Ads.

Content for My Blog

So we know what a Blog is and a little bit about why search engines love blogs and why people are fans of blogs... But what do I blog about... Where do I get content ideas?

Here are a few tips...

2. Recent events that you attended - Did you go to a seminar recently? Or attend an industry tradeshow? Write about it...

3. Upcoming Events that you are planning to attend. Write a post... "I just signed up for this course..." Tell your readers why you registered,

What is a Blog?

April 9th, 2008
I was just talking to a Real Estate agent briefly about the importance of having a Blog. Their response... "Sounds good... I'm sort of techy but actually not sure what a Blog is."

Enter our friend Wikipedia... Here is how wikipedia defines a blog

"A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog."
