The alexa ranking is a ranking based on the traffic of your website. The smaller the number the better the ranking. So websites with higher traffic volumes have a lower number and a better Alexa ranking.
When ranking your site on traffic, alexa takes 2 items into consideration
- Reach - How many people came to your website
- Pageviews - How deep people went into your site or the number of pages viewed
In order to improve your Alexa rank, you need to improve your traffic. There are a number of ways that you can improve traffic.
- Advertise on Google
- Optimize Your website for the Search Engines
- Get involved with social media
- Add some video to your website.
